But I am finding that the local government offices in Darmstadt, Germany are even worse.
They make a LOT of mistakes.
Last year they gave us the wrong information that cost us the equivalent of over $900 American dollars.
[To be fair, I must admit they did apologize AND pay us back for their mistake – something that would never happen in America!]
This year, they filled out paperwork incorrectly, costing us yet another trip to the local office.
I had always thought of Germans as concise, organized and people who pay attention to detail to a fault.
All my illusions are shattered now. I have not known a US government office, local or otherwise to make this many mistakes in such a short period of time.
Why don’t they have their information in order from the start? Why don’t they pay attention to filling out paperwork correctly?
Does anyone else have this many problems in Germany or is it just me?
The only conclusion I can draw is that they just don’t seem to care if they do things right or wrong!
This is very disheartening. This is also an eye opener for me!
