HydroFloss Parts

Get HydroFloss Parts

The Hydro Floss is an excellent tool for helping with gaining or maintaining dental health. If you are on this page you probably already know that!

Occasionally, there is a need for a part. If your HydroFloss is over 3 years old, I suggest replacing it. You can get a new hydrofloss here.

Here is a list of common parts that you may wish to replace on your Hydro Floss oral irrigator:

The Reservoir

Hydro Floss Reservoir tank Sometimes people drop their reservoirs.  Sometimes they no longer seat properly on the base.  Sometimes, people break or lose the plastic peace that connects the reservoir to the base or they lose the black o ring that makes it all work.

In these cases, you may wish to get a new reservoir,  you can find a new Hydro Floss Reservoir here.

Hydro Floss Regular Jet Tips

hydro floss regular jet tips These are the Hydro Floss regular jet tips.  The manufacturer recommends replacing your tip every 90 days.

The problem is that we tend to unknowingly and accidentally rub against out teeth – this can cause the diameter of the whole in the tip to change.  This can alter the dynamics of how the hydro floss works.

The regular tips come in packages of four.  There are four color coded jet tips as pictured to the left.

You can obtain more Hydro Floss Regular Jet Tips Here:

Hydro Floss Pocket Pal Jet Tips

These are the Hydro Floss Pocket Pal Jet tips.  They are designed for those with 5-6 mm pocket depths.  These are not to be used “instead of”  the regular tips,  they are to be used “in addition to” the regular tips.

While the Regular Jet Tips, are designed to to be used parallel to the gums and teeth (not into the gums),  the pocket pals may be angled safely toward the gum tissue itself.

They have a safety feature that causes the tip to come off if you try to go too high on the pressure.

The pocket pals come with a set of instructions, but if you have any questions on use, you should consult your hygienist.

You may obtain HydroFloss Pocket Pal jet tips here.

Hydro Floss Cannula Tips

These are the Hydro Floss Cannula jet tips.  They come with an adapter attachment.   These are similar to the pocket pal jet tips above, except that they are designed for use against 8-10 mm pockets.

They come with a full set of instructions on use,  if you have any questions at all, consult your dentist or hygienist on their use.

You can find the Hydro Floss Cannula Tips here .

Hydro Floss Hose Assembly – Picture is not currently available.

It is possible to replace the hose assembly which includes the hose and the handle together.

However, this is not recommended UNLESS you are a person with mechanical skill and ability.   I have tried to do this myself and was unable to.

This should only be attempted by someone who has some ability with small parts and mechanical things.

If you are an average person, it would be better if you were to purchase a new hydro floss rather than attempt this yourself.

If you feel that you have the ability, you can find the hose assembly for the hydrofloss here.

HydroFloss Reservoir Replacement

April 26, 2011 by david

Hydro Floss Reservoir tank
Topic: HydroFloss Reservoir Replacement

The Hydro Floss oral irrigator is a fantastic machine that many people have discovered for themselves. Occasionally a replacement reservoir is needed. They are often difficult to find. Here is a great place where you can get one.

Hydro Floss Reservoir

In case you were wondering if this reservoir will fit your Hydro Floss, there is nothing to worry about.  There is only one genuine Hydro Floss and it has been made the same way for over 20 years now.

Therefore, you can rest assured that, at the time of this writing (April 2011) that this reservoir will fit your machine – provided you have a genuine Hydro Floss.   If you are not sure that you have a real Hydro Floss, you can call the number after clicking through the above link to ask.

I have had the pleasure of hearing the individual stories of dozens if not hundreds of people by now about how the Hydro Floss has helped them.  Since I have my own story to tell about this machine, I do not find it at all surprising and I am absolutely delighted to hear similar stories from others.

Occasionally, someone will drop their reservoir or damage it in one way or another.  Sometimes the reservoir does not seat properly any longer.  These problems do not happen very often but when they do, many people would prefer to replace their reservoir, rather than purchasing a new unit.

Personally, I think everyone should have two HFs in their home.  Perhaps one for travel.  Here is a travel tip: if you want to travel with your hydro floss keep the original box it comes in and then use that box and the styrofoam that encases it to protect it during travel.   This tip came from a happy customer who travelled a lot and did NOT want to be without her hydro floss oral irrigator.

Perhaps a slightly more unusual problem is for the HF hose to spring a leak.  This can happen. You can get the hose assembly via the same link above.

Your Hydro Floss is a very powerful tool to help you protect your dental health.   Many of the people I talk to tell me that they have seen a reduction in their periodontal pocket depths.  That is certainly good news for those suffering from dental disease.

Your dentist or hygienist should be checking these depths at every visit.  If they are not, ask them too!  You want to monitor to make sure your depths stay at 3mm and below – above that is usually considered a problem by your dentist.  If this happens to you, do not panic,  just be aware that you have to take action to protect your dental health and get those pockets back to 3mm or below.

The key is what you do at home.  You can only get your teeth cleaned a few times a year at most.  What you do every day at home has the greatest impact in your dental health.   Your hygienist can help you with tips and tricks.  This may be where the Hydro Floss comes in for you!  Ask.

You may also want to read the book: What You Should Know about Gum Disease to gain a greater understanding about the problems of dental health from a layman’s perspective.   This book is easy to read and very thorough.  It is not technical and the explanations of complex issues are fairly simple and easy to understand.

There are also specialty tips for the Hydro Floss, you can read about the Pocket-Pal Jet Tips.

Anyway, you probably came here to get a HydroFloss reservoir – thanks for visiting!

Practice Dental Self-Defense….

April 15, 2011 by Dave

David
Author: What You Should Know about Gum Disease

The slogan: “Practice Dental Self-Defense” was originally coined by me, I do believe. If I am wrong, please do let me know.

The problem: Many health care practitioners are not really trained in | geared toward | interested in | (pick your phrase) PREVENTION.

If you think about it, the mindset of modern health care, including many in the dental health field is similar to that of a mechanic. “We fix you | your car|  when   | you are | it is | broken”!

Aside from some very limited advice on brushing and flossing, many practitioners do not tell you much about the reasons WHY you should be protecting your dental health or what else you can do IN ADDITION TO brushing and flossing to protect your dental health AND your wallet.

The consequences: You end up with expensive and costly dental treatments at some time in your life.

Returning to to the mechanic | car analogy : Picture this scene: You are driving away from your auto mechanic for the 6th time in 3 years. Each time he has changed your engine and charged you a pretty sum to do so. Pretend for a moment that you do not know what an ‘oil change’ is and no one has ever told you. You just know that you have to get your engine replaced every so often.

But if you “did” know about oil changes, you might save yourself a lot of money, time, pain and hassle. But you don’t!

[End analogy]

I am not a doctor in any way, shape or form, I am just pointing out to you what I believe the reality to be. Brushing and flossing alone are helpful and they are enough for a few people. But the majority of people are still going to run into dental health problems!

I could go on and on about this topic. But suffice it to say that I brushed and flossed more than most people would dream of! I still developed gum disease.

The worst part about that is that, just like most people, I had no idea I had this problem. What makes this even more interesting is that I have a great deal of schooling in the life sciences and I still did not know about this problem!

Dental professionals tell us that up to 75% of people today have some sort of gum disease in their mouth RIGHT NOW! Are you one of them? Chances are you think that you are not! But so do most of the other 75% percent. Like myself, they think they have no problems whatsoever.

Then “suddenly” one day they are told they need a SRP (scaling and root planing treatment or deep cleaning), a loose tooth needs to be pulled and an implant put in,a cavity needs to be filled …. The list goes on and on.

I was “suddenly” told that I needed a deep cleaning and that NOTHING ELSE was going to help me! I was told that If I did not get the treatment done right then and there that I must sign a waiver that it was not the fault of the dental office if I lost my teeth!

That was back in 2005, if memory serves correctly. I never permitted that treatment and I still have all of the teeth that I had back then! My gums are healthy and I have not been drilled for a single cavity since (except for the replacement of an old filling). Now, I cannot guarantee the same results for you because every human body is different. We have different situations, chemistry, knowledge etc. And you should always be under the care of a dentist for your dental health. I definitely advocate professional dental care!

BUT what I have done is learned an awful lot about this problem (gum disease) and a lot about prevention for both gum disease and other dental health issues. PREVENTION can save you a lot of money, time, pain and lost teeth! So I personally think everyone should focus more on prevention! And I hope you agree with me.

If you do, read more at https://www.Gingivitiskiller.com – where you can get a digital copy of my book: What You Should Know about Gum Disease which you can also find in print book form at any online book retailers website. It is also available on itunes (if you have the amazon app) as well as on Kindle!

Second, one of the most useful tools I have discovered is the Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator. I have talked to many customers about this tool because I liked it so much that I started to sell it. And I am finding that many people, besides myself, have derived great benefit from utilizing it. And I think you might too!

Finally, if that is not enough, you can call me if you would like to. Just go to ToothyGrinsStore.com and you will find my toll free number plastered on the top of the page. Give me a call if you would like to!

Sincerely,

David Snape

Hydro Floss User Report / Testimonial

March 31, 2011 by Dave

JoAnn Writes:

I cannot tell you enough how much I love the “Hydro Floss”. I’ve had serious periodontal problems and had to have maintenance 4 times a year! I just had the best check up in years. My gums are a healthy pink and my teeth have tightened! I add a a little bit of listerine to the water before using. I wish I had known about this wonderful machine 10 years ago! Thank you so much! Joanne

My Reply

Hi Joanne,

I think that is wonderful news. I am so glad that you are getting the benefits that others have!.

I’m sure I mentioned it before, but the best results seem to come from using the machine twice a day with two reservoirs per use!

Hydro Floss on Craigslist…

December 17, 2010 by david

Today, I saw a hydro floss oral irrigator on craig’s list for $20.

It said it had only been used a dozen times.

But I could tell from the picture that it was an older unit.

I would not really want a dental hygiene device that was used – that doesn’t sound very hygienic.  I suppose if it was cleaned real well with bleach or something, but frankly, it is a lot like a toothbrush.  I do not want to use someone elses!

My suggestion is to pay the $98 for a new one at https://www.ToothyGrinsStore.com

That is probably the best way to go. Then you know exactly how many times it has actually been used.

Judging based on the results that I hear from customers, I wouldn’t want to sell my Hydro Floss at any price. Sounds like the person that owned this one didn’t really try to use it. If so, they may have been astounded by the results too!

Oh well. I just wouldn’t buy a used device from Craig’s List nor from Ebay.

These machines are worth way more than the $98 that a new one costs and you get an actual valid warranty too!

I have had one for several years now, I believe over 5 at the time of this writing.   I think I owe a lot to my hydrofloss, it appears to have saved me from a deep cleaning or Scaling and Root Planing treatment (SRP).

I think anyone with dental health issues should be under the care of a doctor or dentist.  What works for one person may not work for another.

However, my dentist really wanted me to get that SRP – deep cleaning treatment.  I really didn’t want it done.  After several months of utilizing the Hydro Floss, I was able to go back and have the same dentist tell me that I didn’t need that special treatment any longer.  She said that whatever I was doing, I should “keep it up”.

And I have ever since.  Except when traveling or out of town.  But once you start using one, and see the benefits for yourself, you will not want to be without yours for any length of time.

The clean feeling that you get is very nice.  As some customers have told me and as I have noticed myself, even when you do a thorough brushing and manual flossing job, once you turn on the Hydro Floss you still find food particles falling into the sink – even after all that previousl cleaning!  That should tell you something!

Oral Irrigators – Are They Helpful (Video)

December 14, 2010 by david

You can find the Hydro Floss oral irrigator, the one I discuss in the video here:

https://www.toothygrinsstore.com/HydroFloss-p/hydrofloss01.htm

Here is a video that I recently created about oral irrigators:

As I mention in the video, I do hear from a lot of customers about this particular device and the majority have experienced positive results from their use of the Hydro Floss. Many have stories similar to mine as I posted in the video. My personal opinion is that oral irrigation can be helpful.

Remember that you should always be under the care of a periodontist or doctor if you have an oral health issue or any type of health issue whatsoever.

The Hydro Floss can be found here: https://www.ToothyGrinsStore.com

Oral Irrigator – My Experience with Oral Irrigation…

Bleeding Gums When Brushing, Why?

December 9, 2010 by david

If you have been seeing blood on your toothbrush or dental floss, then you are NOT alone. This is a problem that many people experience.

What is the problem? Most likely the problem is due to gingivitis (mild) or the more advanced ‘gum disease’. You will want a periodontist to confirm this for you.

There are a few other possibilities, but most of the time this problem is due to gum disease – again, ask your periodontist to diagnose it for you.

I had this problem and I wrote about my experience at https://www.Gingivitiskiller.com. You can read about it there.

Of all of the things that I tried, I believe the Hydro Floss Oral Irrigator provided the greatest effect on my gum health. After using it, I returned to the dentist who confirmed I no longer needed the advanced treatment she had previously recommended.

I cannot guarantee that it will work for you, because every human body is different. There are different factors involved for each person, etc.

However, I can tell you that I am not alone in my experience. Because I sell the Hydro Floss at https://www.ToothyGrinsStore.com – I have been afforded the opportunity to talk to a lot of people about their experience with the hydro floss. Many have told me stories that are similar to my own.

If you want to talk to me, go over to ToothyGrinsStore.com – the 800 number is at the top of the screen there.

My thoughts are that you should get the book at GingivitisKiller.com and then the Hydro Floss at ToothyGrinsStore.com

You might also take a look at essential oils too. But again, the Hydro Floss seemed to do the most good to me.

Again, I cannot promise that what I did will work for you. But I do know that it worked for me and for others too!

Bleeding gums when brushing, flossing or getting regular dental cleanings is a classic sign of gum disease.

You should always be under the care of a periodontist or dentist for this type of a problem.

Best always,

Strange Metallic Taste in Mouth Disappears…

December 4, 2010 by Dave

I received a call from a customer yesterday who told me that the strange metallic taste in her mouth disappeared after using the Hydro Floss oral irrigator.

Although I do hear from customers who tell me their gingival health has improved, pocket depths have reduced and that they have successfully avoided a SRP (Scaling and Root Planing or Deep Cleaning) treatment, this is the first time I heard about the metallic taste problem. This customer seemed delighted with her results.

You can find the Hydro Floss at https://www.ToothyGrinsStore.com

Please be advised that even though the Hydro Floss helped me and the vast, vast majority of customers that I talk to, there is not guarantee that it will work for you. Every human body is different in a variety of ways. And if you have gum disease, any other dental disease or think that you might – you should be under the care of a dentist or periodontist at all times. You need them to monitor your progress and to make sure you have not gone off course!

Having said that. The studies on the Hydro Floss, published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology – not once, but twice show the effectiveness of the hydro floss over other irrigators that do not and can not use the patented magnetic technology.

The studies were published in the Journal in May of 93 and April of 98
