Defeating Bad Breath and Morning Breath – Free Guide

January 20, 2013 by david

free book on deafeating bad breathI created a nice resource page for fighting against bad breath and morning breath.  You can find it here:

https://www.toothygrinsstore.com/Articles.asp?ID=271

I think it is a valuable resource for those who are looking for some answers.

You see, many of the bad breath products today have the potential to make things worse.

Moreover,  they do not attack the root of the problem.

When you are just trading one odor for another, you can’t really say that is a solution!

Maybe it makes things a little better.

However, a better solution involves the kind of things that will attack and reduce the population of the ‘bad’ bacteria.

So, this resource is free (email address required).  It doesn’t cost any money however.   The information you find, might just be what you really need.

Relief from the complications of your personal and professional relationships should be a great benefit for you.

You can get this guide here.

Part 7 Of What You Should Know About Gum Disease

In this video we continue onwards on our journey to put at least the first four chapters of the book on Video.

You can ask questions about this material anytime you would like to.   The phone number is 1-888-586-6849.

You can also reach me here.
As I hope you understand by now,  gum disease is a very serious problem that afflicts A LOT of people.   In fact, most dental professionals will say that about 75% of people have some for of this disease right now!

That means you will want to work on protecting your family and yourself  right away.

It’s A Big Bad World Out  There

It sure seems like everyone wants to get their hands in your wallet now-a-days , doesn’t it?    Here is an analogy I like to draw:

Say you go to your mechanic once a year and he charges you 5 grand every time to give you a new engine.   He does that year after year for you.   How wonderful that you have someone who will replace your engine every year.

Yet, there is a problem.   This mechanic could simply teach you a little bit about prevention —  such as,  change your oil every 3,000 miles…  And then you would not have to spend 5 Grand every year.

In either case, you are happy.   But if you knew the truth, you would be saving 5 Grand every year.     And of course, if you ever figured it out, you would be very unhappy.   So, there is really no incentive to tell you (on the part of the mechanic)  plus, he would be losing 5 Grand every year.    Interesting, isn’t it?

A Little Info Goes A Long Way

I wrote the book because I faced a similar situation but with my teeth and gums.   I wanted people to know this information so they could protect themselves and their loved ones.  Saving money and the pain of recovery from expensive treatments is definitely worth a few bucks.    In order to save thousands, that just makes sense doesn’t it?

I speak in General terms only here.   For specific questions about your unique dental health situation, ask your doctor or dentist.

Alochol Breath – Not Pleasant

November 12, 2011 by david

Isn‘t it just slightly ironic when people use an alcohol based mouthwash to cover up bad breath?

I will tell you this story:

This happened many years ago, but I still remember it.  A good whiff of bad breath is hard to forget, isn’t it?  You probably remember a few situations yourself.

I had a relative who did not have any detectable bad breath at all.  But, he went into the bathroom and when he came out I could smell alcohol breath from across the room.

The odor was quite strong.  Ironically, he didn’t have bad breath when he went into the bathroom, but he sure did when he came out.

I guess the moral of the story is to be careful about what you use to cover up alleged bad breath.

Did you know that alcohol can also dry the mucous membranes of the mouth.  Furthermore, when those membranes are dry, the bacteria actually multiply more quickly because they are not inhibited by the natural saliva of the mouth as much.

I won’t mention any brands by name, but I guess you could imagine one or two without even thinking too hard about it.

Better to use something that actually isn’t there to mask one odor with another (hopefully an improvement) odor.  Use something that actually has the ability to inhibit the reproductive speed of the bacteria in your mouth and works towards addressing the core of the problem.

My Gums Bleed – Do I Need a Dentist?

October 19, 2010 by david

The short answer is: Yes! If your gums are bleeding from regular brushing and flossing, you most likely do need to see a dentist. The dentist can rule out other possibilities from the most likely one: Do you have gingival disease?

Gingivitis is a mild inflammation of the gums. As this disease progresses the names change into various forms, but the blanket term is typically ‘gum disease’.

If you discover that this is the problem that you have, do not feel that you are the only one. Many people have this disease. In fact, so many have this problem in one form or another that it truly is an ‘epidemic’. If it were immediately life threatening it would be a true epidemic.

As research continues, it does appear that many researches are hypothesizing a potential link between gum disease and more ‘serious’ disease such as heart disease, and stroke. There are also many other suspected links to a variety of other health problems / concerns as well.

Therefore, it is advisable to do something about bleeding gums. To be clear, even a little bit of bleeding is NOT normal. Many people think that a little bleeding upon brushing or flossing is ok. In fact, it is most often indicative of a disease condition.

Now, you may be wondering what you can do about this problem. There is an easy to read book in layman language that can help. The name of the book is: What You Should Know about Gum Disease.

When it comes to fighting this disease, there are additional tools you can use, in addition to your normal brushing and flossing. You are brushing AND flossing daily, right? Next:

Well, in addition to those important activities, you may consider using an oral irrigator . You may also wish to learn about balancing the pH in your mouth as that can help to protect your dental health.

Bad Breath Mouthwash

March 10, 2010 by david

There are millions of people suffering from bad breath. In fact, it should be pretty safe to say that everyone suffers from it from time to time depending on what was just eaten. Yet, there are people that do suffer from bad breath all of the time and those people are looking for relief.

Obviously, bad breath can harm relationships and even your career. Therefore, you have to be careful on this account.

Not all mouthwash is created equal. For example, there is a difference between covering up a problem and attacking its root cause. Mouthwash may only be part of the equation. Other things like chewing xylitol gum or using a nasal and sinus irrigator can have an impact on whether you have bad breath or not too!

However, this article is about bad breath mouthwash, so I will focus on that for now. As you are well aware there are many mouthwashes on the market that claim to help in various ways.

First, I want to focus on what you do NOT need in a mouthwash. Have you ever picked up a bottle of mouthwash and examined the label? Sometimes you see the names of chemicals that span far to many syllables. I really think that any mouthwash that is relying on chemicals with really long names are not necessary.

What we make in laboratories is not always good for us. Sometimes we figure out decades later that some substance is harmful in a different way than was initially looked for.

What about alcohol laden mouthwash. Here too is a problem. Alcohol has a powerful drying effect on the mucous membranes of the mouth. When those membranes become less moist, the bacteria really like that. It allows them to multiply more rapidly. Have you ever smelled the breath of someone who recently rinsed their mouth with an alcohol laden mouthwash. It is really like another kind of bad breath! Nothing was really accomplished by using it!

When combating bad breath, you are really looking to reduce the population of VSC or Volatile Sulfur Compound producing bacteria. These are the kind that can really give you a severe case of bad breath.

There is another aspect to many mouthwashes that is lacking. That is pH balance. You see, much like the less moist mucous membranes mentioned above a low or acidic pH can cause the bacteria that are plaguing you to multiply more rapidly – they love an acidic environment. This is slightly similar to the pH balance of a fish tank. You have to monitor that pH for the health of your fish. Well, your mouth is also concerned with this.

Since the bacteria that cause bad breath are often anaerobic in nature, which simply means that they like to avoid oxygen, then it is too our benefit to place oxygen in their environment. It will either slow them down drastically or cause them to die.

Therefore, you want two major things in your mouthwash for bad breath. You want pH balance and oxygen. Not many mouthwashes can deliver them. I know of two brands and only two that have both of these components.
