<description>Doing daily eye exercises can help maintain and even improve vision. There are over 1500 eye doctors around the Country that specialize in Vision Therapy, which includes guided eye exercises for helping to maintain and improve vision naturally. These eye doctors are referred to as &quot;Behavioral Optometrists&quot;.

Although eye exercising has been practiced for many centuries in China, it became popularized by Dr Bates in the early 1900&#039;s. Dr. Bates was an ophthalmologist and instructor. Before the turn of the century Dr Bates had become increasingly dissatisfied with conventional ophthalmological practice, and he consequently began his own research into eyesight disorders, which led to the development of The Bates Method.

As early as 1891 he had learned how to help people out of their glasses. Today, many of the Behavioral Optometrists use the Bates Method, along with other methods and techniques developed since over the decades.
