Perio Therapy For Gum Health….

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Perio-therapyDr. Katz has created a wonderful brand of products called Perio Therapy. I have written about these products in my book: What You Should Know about Gum Disease, ISBN: 978-0981485508.

There are a number of reasons why this is a good set of products. The mouthwash is pH balanced. This is helpful for a number of different reasons. First of all, it is protective of your dental enamel. Low pH mouthwashes can chemically harm your tooth enamel.

Another reason why pH balance is important for a mouthwash is because the bacteria that cause gum disease also like a more acidic environment. By rinsing with a nice pH balanced mouthwash, you are doing yourself a favor there and you are doing even more towards inhibiting the anaerobes that are responsible for causing gum disease.

In addition, the mouthwash itself contains oxygenated compounds – the anaerobes (anaerobic bacteria) do not like oxygen, that is why they are called anaerobes (they ‘shun’ oxygen). This boost of oxygen can aid in keeping the population down to a minimum.

The benefits do not stop there. The Perio Therapy products also contain zinc which is believed to support the health of gum tissue. This mouthwash also contains tea tree oil – believed to have anti-bacterial properties as well as essential oil of spearmint which is also believed to have anti-bacterial capabilities.

All-in-all if you have gum disease, these Perio Therapy products are likely to help you. This is why I like them. Next: Click Here to Check out Perio Therapy Products and learn more about them for yourself.

And here are some excellent coupons you can use on these products.

What is the Best Mouthwash to Use?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

There are two mouthwashes that I like: CLOSYS and Periotherapy.

CLOSYS is a Chlorine Dioxide compound while Periotherapy has its own method of delivering oxygen.

Both are pH balanced. In fact, they are the only two mouthwashes that I know of that are pH balanced – actually, all of the Therabreath mouthwashes, of which PerioTherapy is one are pH balanced.

While CLOSYS has both oxygen and pH balance – which is very important to the health of our teeth and gums in my opinion – Periotherapy has some additional ingredients

Here are the ingredients in Perio Therapy Oral Rinse – straight from the bottle:

Purified water, PeriO2 (Proprietary Oxychlor compounds) Zinc Gluconate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Tea Tree Oil, Essential oil of spearmint, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Peg-40, Hydrogenated Castor Oil.

CLOSYS does not have the essential oil, the Tea Tree Oil, or the zinc gluconate. These final ingredients are good for the health of your gum tissue in my opinion. I suppose there are doctors and scientists who may disagree with those statements.

But for those who disagree, there are others who would agree.

Do your own research, but I think Perio Therapy Oral Rinse and CLOSYS are two top mouth rinses that I have found to be useful in combating my gum disease.
