My 57 year old brother has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After chemo therapy treatments a transplant of my stem cells was done. we are 100% compatible. Everything went great and he actually went back to work two weeks ago. Unfortunately, it seems that the chemo therapy did not eliminate completely the cancer cells and now they are showing in a very aggressive way, 70% of his blood cells are blasts or cancer cells. Aggressive chemo is not longer possible.
Can you suggest anything?

I’m sorry to hear of your brother’s troubles.

Of course, I advocate working closely with your physician. Chances are high that your doctor has not explored ALL possible approaches and avenues. They are unwilling to step beyond a certain point. I’m not saying anything bad here, it is just that when medicine fails us, especially when we are about to die or have a loved one that is and medicine has no further answers – we have no choice but to explore alternatives.

Again, you should not do anything without the approval or at least ok of your physician. But here are a few things I can almost guarantee your physician has not explored.

1. Here is a book that contains hundreds of natural cancer treatments that have worked for others. They also have hundreds of stories of those who successfully defeated their cancers. 2. If you need a scientific based approach or at least some ideas from someone who is scientifically trained get the book: How to Fight Cancer and Win – in this book you will learn of things that modern doctor’s either don’t know or don’t talk about.

3. Find the original Essiac formula on the Internet and start making your own Essiac tea at home. The story is that a nurse named Renee Caisse obtained this formula from native American Indians. Rumor has it that she cured thousands of people of cancer with this formula, many were considered ‘beyond hope’ by doctors.

4. Find a clinic in a city near you that does Ozone Therapy. This would be a clinic run by licensed medical doctors who have recognized the benefit of ozone therapy that is not recognized by the mainstream. Many have found this therapy to be very powerful.

5. There is a yahoo e-group that goes by the name of ‘ozone-therapy’ or something close to that. It is run by a doctor and you can ask questions about ozone therapy there.

Chris sites a Tufts University Study. Apparently according to the Tufts’ study, prunes win for fighting free radicals by far.

Of course, we want to see more studies before drawing any conclusions.

However I do believe in the ability of plant chemicals or phytochemicals to enhance / promote the health of the body.

The Book Natural Cancer Treatments suggests that many plants foods may provide a benefit against cancer but prunes are not mentioned.

Remember Hypocrites, the ‘father’ of modern medicine? Hypocrites said: “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine thy food.”

Some herbs have been suggested to be Immunity Boosters.

It seems he had thoughts in the same direction.

Of course, if you have cancer or think you might, make your doctor your very first stop for diagnosis and treatment. And check with him to see if it is ok to try ‘alternatives’.

On the other hand, it is hard to think that he would object to eating more prunes, strawberries and grapes. But you never know.

Looks like Bausch & Lomb’s Renu with MoistureLoc solution is under suspicion of facilitating an eye fungal infection that causes temporary blindness. The contact lens solution maker has voluntarily stopped shipping this particular lens solution.

If you wear contacts be very careful. I have been using a brand of solution for disinfection that I get at Wal Mart. It is cheaper than the expensive B&L and Alcon solutions and seems to work just fine.

I’ve been wearing contacts since I was 12, so about 25 years now. I’ve recently started washing my eyes with and eyecup, lemon juice and distilled water. I just use a single drop of the lemon juice. Don’t do this yourself, consult with your eye doctor if you are having any eye problems.

I love washing my eyes. I admit it sounds kind of gross, but people used to do it back in the early 1900s. You can get eyewash and an eye cup at just about any drugstore.

After wearing contact lenses all day, my eyes enjoy getting ‘washed’. They feel better. It is nice do do upon waking up too.

Bird Flu

You know it is amazing how much Bird Flu turns up in the NEWS. It seems like everyone is afraid.

I guess if I were to get bird flu, I would jump for colloidal silver at my local drug store. Silver has the ability to kill both bacteria and viruses. But, you’re not likely to hear doctors talk about it. For one, it is available without a prescription.

One of the side effects of too much silver in the body is the skin turning blue. I don’t think anyone wants that.

Honestly though, I haven’t been sick in over 6 years. I ‘ve been practicing Falun Gong exercises and I can’t help but think it has an influence over the health of my body.

I recently did a post on weight loss, check it out.

Personally, I don’t think it is that hard to lose or control weight. It is a matter of a little bit of knowledge. There are foods that raise metabolism. It is also prudent to avoid high fat and sugar combination foods. Just take a look at the snacks people it and you will discover the great majority of the problem.

Obesity is a big problem in the United States. I’ve recently read that lawmakers are trying to outlaw junk food from schools. It seems that 18% of boys and 16% of girls are overweight. This number is up from 14% previously.

It appears that the FDA has approved a patch to control Attention Defecit Disorder.
The patch contains methylphenidate. This is what is in Ritalin.

In my humble opinion, too many kids are on this drug. I sometimes wonder if this is about controlling the behavior of kids more than about whether they actually have ADHD or not. And frankly, it scares me.

Anyway, there is an ADHD herbal remedy that I would personally choose if I had ADHD over prescription medications. But that is just me, consult with your physician if you or your loved one suffers from ADHD or ADD.

Merck, a pharmaceutical company was ordered to pay 4 Million on a case on Vioxx, a painkiller that may be linked to heart problems.

One thing I learned in school that I will pass on to you is the generalization:
“All drugs have side effects”. Make sure you know what the side effects are for any drugs you are taking. There should be information that comes with your prescription that details the possible side effects of a drug.

She was older than me, perhaps mid 60′s We were both
there to attend a Falun Dafa conference.

She had an amazing story to tell. The finer
details may escape me now as this was a
few years ago, but here is her story colored
through the length of time that has passed
and my memory of her story.

She had watched her daughter struggle with
and die from cancer. The pain of watching
one’s child die has to be very great.

Shortly thereafter, she herself was diagnosed
with cancer. Tragedy heaped upon tragedy.

She followed the prescribed course of
treatment which was chemotherapy and
it was not working.

She knew that she was dying and made
preparations as she became weaker and
weaker.

Near the end she heard of Falun Dafa and
read ZhuanFalun (the main book of Falun Dafa)
Then she began practicing the slow, rounded
smooth and flowing exercises.

In a short period of time, her cancer went
into remission. Her body got stronger and
she had more energy than before.

She recovered fully.

It turns out that cruciferous
vegetables including broccoli,
cauliflower, brussel sprouts and
cabbage contain Indole 3 Carbinol
(I3C). I3C is the reason our moms
were so strongly encouraging us to
eat up.

Since being discovered, Indole 3
Carbinol has been used in many
studies that suggest several health
benefits, especially for women.
Oral ingestion of Indole 3 Carbinol
has been shown to alter the
metabolism of estrogen in a
beneficial manner. As we know from
hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
studies, excess estrogen in the
body can be damaging. It’s fairly
common knowledge that HRT can
increase the risks of most
gynecological cancers including
endometrial, ovarian and breast
cancer as well as increasing the
risks of heart attacks and stroke.
HRT can also induce PMS type
symptoms including bloating, breast
tenderness, moodiness and
irritability and water retention.

So, if all these things can occur
because of an increase in estrogen,
maybe we should understand a little
better what it is that is causing
this to happen. Here is a little
Biology 101.

Both male and female bodies have estrogen receptors. These
receptors are like electrical outlets. The purpose of estrogen
receptors is to receive estrogen and allow the body to process
the estrogen. Just like there are many different things that
you could plug into an electrical outlet, there are several
different types of estrogen that can plug into estrogen
receptors. In the case of electrical outlets, various things
will pull different amounts of power such as the difference
between a night light and a computer. Obviously, the computer
will draw much more power than the night light, but the least
amount of power will be drawn from one of those little plastic
safety plugs.

Back to the estrogen receptors. Different forms of estrogen;
phytoestrogen, estriol, estrone, estradiol and xenoestrogens,
have different effects when plugged into those estrogen
receptors. The weaker the estrogen, the less estrogenic effects
they will have on the body. The stronger the estrogen, the more
negative effects they will have on health. But just as any
house has a limited number of electrical outlets, the body has
a limited number of estrogen receptors.

Ideally we want to plug as many estrogen receptors as possible
with weak estrogens, primarily phytoestrogens which come from
plant sources. HRT and hormonal birth control methods all use
the strongest natural estrogen, estradiol. Indole 3 Carbinol
mimics the weakest forms of estrogen. Therefore, the more
Indole 3 Carbinol that is absorbed by the body and used to plug
the estrogen receptors, less receptors will be available to the
stronger estrogens.

Studies indicate that Indole 3 Carbinol is more beneficial than
Tamoxifen for the prevention of breast cancer1. This may be due
to I3C’s ability to mimic very weak estrogen in the body.

Studies have also indicated that Indole 3 Carbinol was
beneficial to mice suffering from Lupus and other autoimmune
disorders2.

Other studies indicate that Indole 3 Carbinol may be beneficial
for the following concerns.

• Ovarian cancer
• Prostate cancer
• Colon cancer
• Human Papilloma Virus (HVP)
• Cervical dysplasia3

In addition, because of the ability Indole 3 Carbinol seems to
have on estrogen, case studies are now showing it may be
beneficial for:

• Hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms
• Breast tenderness, cramping and other menstrual symptoms
• Helping to relieve muscle soreness do to exercise or
overexertion.

With so much contributing to the numerous benefits of Indole 3
Carbinol, it may be time to start listening to mom and eat
those veggies!

I think this is not a correct picture. For example,
you hear about people going into remission all the time.

Of course there are no guarantees, but it just makes
sense to me that a person would want to arm themselves
with as many weapons as possible to overcome cancer.

That is why I like to tell people about this resource

Don’t worry, I’m healthy. The cornerstone to my
