Question: I’m not really interesting in taking on a lot of exercise to lose weight. I am willing to walk. Can walking really help me lose weight?
The answer is yes. Walking can help you to lose weight. There is an interesting article appropriately titled, How To Lose The Most Fat With Walking .
In this article, the author reveals something that I had never thought of before. How the spine works when we walk. I found that to be fascinating.
Getting back to our question. It is possible to lose weight utilizing walking but there are a few things you should be aware of.
1. You should probably walk continuously for 30 minutes to an hour, almost daily. I’d say at least 5 days a week. (7 is better). Stopping and starting doesn’t work well, the walking needs to be continuous for the entire time.
2. The way this works is that you deplete the short term energy supply, of your body. This is stored in the liver. Then, when that is depleted your body will naturally utilize fat for energy.
3. Don’t eat carbs before walking or other exercise. The short term energy supply will take much longer to reach a depleted state.
4. The best time to eat carbs is after such a workout. So make carbs your reward for following through on your walking exercise.
BTW: people from all over the world walk 🙂 Some walk a lot more than others.
