Flap Procedure or Gum Graft

Question:

The dentist here wanted me to have a flap procedure done. According to him, it is a kind of surgery which I am very reluctant to undergo. I do not have bleeding gums. There was one area which was inflamed but they want to do my entire mouth. The inflammation is less now with antibiotics.
I hope to recover from this without any surgery. Your advice?
I have a herbal mouth wash of tea tree, lavender and peppermint I’ve been using 2 or 3 times a day for the past 2 days thank you for your concern.

Reply:

I’m always cautious to tell people to get the expressed approval of their dentist before altering the care plan that their dentist has provided.

You might want to ask your dentist if it is ok for you to try using this: http://tobeinformed.com/ora-md

You may also want to try CLOSYS(TM) mouthwash

If you dentist says, ‘no’ then don’t do it. It is important not to alter the treatment plan your dentist came up with without his expressed approval. Under such a scenario, you might want to consider getting the second opinion of another qualified and licensed dentist.

Also, it sounds like you are concerned about the recommendation of your dentist - I don’t blame you for that at all. Therefore, you should consider seeking out another dentist for his opinion .

I do not know if they have periodontists where you live, but if they do, you may want to visit a periodontist instead of a regular dentist.

Good luck, and let us know how you do!
