Warrior Diet, Nutrition, and Special Ops Question..

Reader Question:

Dear Dave
I’m thinking about doing the Warrior Diet. I heard that you have to eat a little bit durring the undereating phase. Could I do the Warrior Diet in a way where I don’t eat anything at all durring the undereating phase? Also I plan on going into a Special Ops unit in the Military, do you think this would be an appropriate diet for that, and can it be applied to Military MRE, or better known as the packages of food that they give soldiers?

My Response:

When people expend great amounts of energy on a daily basis as an athlete would or perhaps the training phase of spec ops – the problem is not what they eat – the problem is getting enough calories.

The best advice on nutrition for the physically fit or those who want to be [or even those who don’t want to be] can probably be found in this book:

I’ve read Tom’s stuff and I believe it to be sound and based on good science.
